Gerzel Mary 'Gerz' Petallo of Far Eastern University is set to face the University of the East in the 87th UAAP Women's Volleyball Tournament 2nd round eliminations at The Arena. In their first round match on March 5, Petallo scored a team-high of 12 points, leading the Lady Tamaraws to a straight-set victory over the Lady Red Warriors. The Lady Tamaraws, currently in a triple-tie for third place with a 5-3 record, are favored in the rematch against the winless and last-placed Lady Warriors (0-8). Petallo expressed pride in her team's effort and determination to win. Chenie Tagaod, who scored 11 points in the first match, is expected to support Petallo in the upcoming game against UE's KC Cepada and Van Bangayan, who each scored 14 points in the previous encounter.
