The NCAA is set to host a special Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (ML:BB) tournament to conclude Season 100, featuring a series of round-robin matches and finals at the Philippine Game Development Expo. This event, spearheaded by NCAA management committee chairman Hercules Callanta, aims to showcase popular esports not currently part of the NCAA's regular calendar. The tournament follows previous NCAA involvement in esports, including a 2021 event where LPU won the championship.
Key Points
The NCAA will host a special ML:BB tournament to end Season 100.
The event will start with round-robin matches on June 28 and 29, followed by another round from July 12 to 13, and conclude with finals from July 25 to 27 at the PGDX at the SMX Convention Center.
Hercules Callanta, chairman of the NCAA management committee, emphasized that the tournament is a special event to highlight popular games in the Philippines.
The NCAA has prior experience with esports, having participated in a 2021 ML:BB contest where LPU emerged as champions.
Callanta mentioned the possibility of including ML:BB in the regular NCAA sports calendar and announced that Valorant will be staged next year.
